  • Unwanted laptop

    Anyone know the best way to get rid of a laptop, I have a windows 11 laptop with amd 5800 processor, 3050ti gpu I
    realized I like the apple laptops better.

    What are the best ways to get rid of it?

    Give it to a homeless friend?

    I know on ebay its still worth around 250 usd.

    I rarely get rip of electronics. I use my hardware until it breaks appart, then I repair it until it breaks appart again, and only send it to recycling once it is completely unworkable.

    I have a Pentium III machine that is still fully operational and I am not gonna dump it until it smokes.

    That said, I think if you really don't want a piece of electronics and want to contribute a bit to the pollution of the planet, the best alternatives are a) find a friend who really has a use for it b) sell it online c) sell it to a pawn shop of second hand dealer d) send to recycle.

    Do you have RAFT down there? They're a charity that upcycles computer
    donations and gives them to school districts.

    I had an IBM Thinkpad T43 that I still miss. I think that was the last
    PC I tossed.

    I am agressively tossing out peripherals and cable I no longer need. I
    had a drawer full of ATA drives and cables, USB 2.0 drive enclosures,
    VGA cables, and more that I've tossed - now that I realize I can
    e-waste smaller items in my recycling, I've tossed out a lot of crap I
    had sitting around.

    I know that. I also work at the welfare office too. EBT cards get stolen often too.
    Thats why I refuse to donate it until his situation gets slightly better.
